Friday, July 30th

2pm: "What's the concept?: Why Concepts are crucial in storytelling."

Presenter: Rob Margolies

Short Description: Do you know why most films don't see the light of day? The concept. Choosing the right concept determines your success before you even write one word. Learn what concepts ARE valuable.

Long Description: Do you know why most films don't see the light of day? The concept. Choosing the right concept determines your success before you even write one word. Learn what concepts ARE valuable. Whether your budget is $0 or Millions, it's irrelevant to how much interest it will have with an audience, leading to whether it will be monetarily successful or not. Many independent filmmakers mock Lifetime and Hallmark, but both of those networks know how big their audience is and generally how well their programming will do before it even airs. Independent filmmakers need to think like this before they develop their ideas if they want to find long term success and pay back their investors which should be the goal as this is a film business, and not a hobby for me, as it should be for you and everyone who wants to be a full time filmmaker.

Friday, July 30th

3pm: "Finding The Funds: A beginners guide to securing film funding."

Presenter: Rob Margolies

Short Description: "I have a lot of secrets on how to find money.  I usually don't give them out publicly for free... until now, this one time." – Rob Margolies

Long Description: Money doesn't grow on trees. But you can have your own non-literal money tree if your film is a smash hit. With the secrets I am going to disclose to you, as long as you aren't a pessimist who refuses to listen, I promise that you will walk away with many ideas you never thought of to get your films funded and your dreams made.

Saturday, July 31st

1pm: "From Influencer to Investor: How influencers can bring attention to YOUR film."

Presenters: Rob Margolies & Dawnmarie Deshaies

Short Description: Attracting influential people to a film project is like Popeye eating all-you-can-eat Spinach. Influencers are mini angels who add wings to your project. With those wings gives you the ability to fly past so many other filmmakers looking for the same thing as you: money and deals.

Long Description: Attracting influential people to a film project is like Popeye eating all-you-can-eat Spinach. Influencers are mini angels who add wings to your project. With those wings gives you the ability to fly past so many other filmmakers looking for the same thing as you: money and deals. Cast celebrities if you can afford them! if you can't afford them, find out HOW you can afford them OR make it worth their while to help you reach out to larger bigger angels. Hollywood is all a game. Don't give people second chances because the odds are too great that people are just out for themselves. And when you put yourself first, you too will have the self righteous confidence to attract the most befitting angels.
